As a consequence of new snow and wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. In particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent.
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some case. In some localities up to 15 cm of snow will fall until Wednesday above approximately 2200 m. The sometimes strong wind has transported some snow. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, especially above approximately 2300 m.
As a consequence of new snow and wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. In particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent.
The sometimes strong wind will transport the new snow. In some places sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs will form. The fresh and older wind slabs represent the main danger. In the afternoon the likelihood of dry avalanches being released will increase in particular at high altitude. Avalanches can be released in near-surface layers, even by a single winter sport participant. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls, and on very steep slopes.
The avalanche danger will increase but remain within the current danger level.
