Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be stable and well bonded throughout. Shady aspects will remain firm with sun exposed areas developing soft surface layers. Greatest snow amounts will be found on high plateaus and North-West through North to East facing coires. Gradual snow loss at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry day with moderate to fresh winds from the South veering South-West in the afternoon. The freezing level will remain above the highest summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry, mild and sunny day. Light winds. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack continues to consolidate in the mild conditions. Refreezing during the evening and gradually softening during the day with the exception of high shady locations. Snow stability is generally good in all locations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
