The general avalanche hazard is LOW below 10,500 feet. Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Yesterday skiers and riders triggered small loose wet slides two to six inches in depth and the snow ran 1,000 feet or more. Although these loose slides will be harder to trigger today the potential still exist and will be most likely during the heat of the day. Be conscious of terrain where small slides could have high consequences.

Clouds and winds will increase with the chance of shower activity during the afternoon and evening. Mountain winds are to be from the southwest with averages of fifteen to thirty miles per hour and higher gusts. Temperatures are to rise into the low thirties in advance of the potential precipitation. The general avalanche hazard will be Low on Saturday. Low hazard does not mean no hazard exists and although the likelihood of triggering loose avalanche will be lower it could still occur, particularly in steep shaded slopes above 9000 feet.
