In sintesi

At the mid and upper elevations west-northwest winds have formed isolated pockets of new soft slabs on leeward aspects and that could be triggered today. Dangerous dense slabs up to three feet in depth formed by west to southwest winds last weekend persist. These older slabs lie upon a weak layer of buried surface hoar and a faceted October snowpack. As these older slabs gain stability with time they will become harder to trigger. Skiers or riders may cross them multiple times and/or get further out onto them before they release with severe consequences. At the lower elevations the snowpack is shallow and avalanches are unlikely.
