With overnight lows near or above freezing, the general avalanche hazard will quickly rise as warming temperatures and periods of sunshine weaken the snowpack. If skies remain mostly clear in the afternoon, natural wet loose sluffs and wet slabs will be possible at all elevations. After several consecutive warm days, any slide activity may entrain deeper layers of snow, including snow to the ground in shallow areas. Get an early start, begin your descent once snow surfaces soften, and don't let summit fever cloud your judgment.

Expect mountain snow/valley rain to develop on Monday as a Pacific trough moves through the region. Precipitation will eventually transition to all snow after an associated cold front moves through. Overnight lows in the mountains will be near 30 before rising into the mid 30s during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will increase to 25 to 35 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE on Monday. In the higher elevations, where the surface of the snowpack is expected to refreeze overnight, avalanches are unlikely until new, shallow soft slabs build in leeward terrain. Below there, rain will keep wet slides possible. Avoid avalanche terrain where the snowpack cannot support the weight of backcountry travelers.
