( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A weak weather system holds a chance for very light snow in the mountains of western Wyoming Wednesday night that will linger into Thursday with only trace amounts of snow expected. Winds will continue northwesterly to westerly around 10 miles per hour picking up some in the afternoon. Temperatures at 9,500 feet will drop to near five degrees by Thursday morning then warm to the low 20s during the day. Soft slabs to a foot in depth could be triggered by people at upper elevations on steep, lee slopes in the Tetons. In the mountains of western Wyoming it may still be possible for users to trigger deeper slabs two to four feet in depth. Larger triggers such as groups or snow machines are more likely to initiate the deeper slabs. Any periods of sunshine will make triggering slides easier and natural sloughs should be expected on steep, sunlit slopes. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE.
