In sintesi

In very steep, wind loaded terrain at the higher elevations, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of surface slab up to a foot deep. With early season conditions, even these small slides have the potential to injure skiers and riders if they are swept into shallowly buried rock outcroppings or scree fields. Snow depths are shallow at the mid elevations, and mostly bare ground exists at the lower elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Areas of light snowfall are possible overnight with accumulations of an inch or two. Partly sunny skies are expected on Friday. Temperatures will be in the teens and 20s. Westerly winds will continue at speeds of 10 to 20 miles per hour with higher gusts. At the upper elevations some isolated pockets of wind slab up to a foot in depth may be reactive to human triggers in very steep terrain. The general avalanche hazard is LOW and normal caution is advised. A small slab avalanche can cause serious injury during these early season conditions.
