Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will add to existing deposits. Greatest accumulations will be on wind sheltered East through South to West aspects above 700 metres. Fragile cornices will form above these aspects. Slopes exposed to the wind will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong winds from a generally Northerly direction soon ease to become moderate to fresh. Cold with snow to low levels. Observed Weather Influences: Snow, heaviest in the morning. Fresh East-North-Easterly winds. Freezing level slowly dropping, around 450 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh areas of moderately bonded windslab are present with greatest accumulations on wind sheltered South-West and West aspects above 700m. Slopes exposed to the wind are generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
