In sintesi

Slab avalanches could be triggered in cliff areas and isolated terrain features at the upper elevations. Warmer temperatures and abundant sunshine will increase the wet snow avalanche hazard. Wet slides are possible on steep slopes after significant softening of the snow surfaces has occurred. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain during the warmer potion of the day.

At the upper elevations pockets of wind slab up to a foot in depth could be triggered by skiers and riders in isolated terrain features and cliff areas. Warming temperatures and sunshine will increase the sensitivity of these slabs to human triggers.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )An approaching disturbance will bring a couple of inches of new snow to the mountains overnight. Conditions will be dry on Wednesday. Skies will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will be below freezing tonight and rise into the 40s in the mountains tomorrow. Winds will be southerly at speeds of 5 to 15 miles per hour. Pockets of wind slab up a foot in depth are still a concern in isolated terrain features at the upper elevations. In the morning the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at the upper elevations and LOW at the lower elevations. The hazard for wet snow avalanches will increase at all elevations during the day.
