In sintesi

Gale force winds and intense blowing and drifting snow will keep unstable and dangerous avalanche conditions ongoing in the backcountry today. Large avalanches could run down into treed areas below. Another round of heavy snowfall tonight and tomorrow will further contribute to dangerous avalanche conditions. Travel in, near, or below avalanche terrain is not recommended at this time.

Gale force SW winds are forecast to have a greater impact on below treeline areas today. Unstable wind slabs are expected to continue to exist anywhere blowing and drifting snow accumulates. Wind slab avalanches may occur in less common locations today including normally wind sheltered areas below treeline. This will be in addition to the usual locations near treeline and above treeline on NW-N-NE-E-SE aspects. Another round of heavy snowfall tonight with continued winds will further fuel this avalanche problem.

If traveling non-avalanche terrain below treeline today, have exact knowledge of the terrain above you with consideration for the possibility that avalanches from above could run down into the woods below. Route plan anticipating poor visibility that does not allow you to see the terrain above you.

Following 1 to 2.5 feet of new snow from the past 24 hours, unstable storm slabs may exist in any wind protected locations below treeline today. This avalanche problem still warrants consideration even though cooling air temperatures during last night's snowfall may have helped to minimize this avalanche problem. Snow surface cracking or signs of recent avalanches are indications to avoid avalanche terrain today.
