Forecast Snow Stability: A covering of soft but stable snow will be present on all aspects above 500 metres. There will be a gradual thaw through the day. The older patchy snow will remain very firm, well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: A dry cloudy day. East-South-Easterly winds will increase from light to become strong by the end of the day. The freezing level will be just above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with some sunshine. The freezing level rose to around the highest summits. Light South-South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Soft but generally stable snow is present on all aspects above 500 metres. Isolated instabilities that remain in recent windslab accumulations on East to South aspects above 800 metres are consolidating. The older patchy snow is very firm, well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
