Forecast Snow Stability: The very patchy and stable snowpack will continue to thaw at first. Any remaining snow patches will firm up later as the temperature lowers. These snow patches will be on high coire rims and gullies. Any new snow deposits will be minimal and insignificant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: The very strong South-East winds will lower in strength overnight, veer through South becoming moderate West- North-West. There will be light showers thought the period with some sleet and snow on the highest tops. The freezing level will remain above summit levels at first then lower steadily overnight and be around 900 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry day with strong South-East winds. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The depleted and very patchy snowpack is stable and continues to thaw. Most patches of snow remain around high coire rims and in gullies. The avalanche hazard is Low.
