The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE above an elevation of 7,500 feet. Unstable hard slab avalanches one to three feet in depth exist on a variety of aspects and are sensitive to human triggers. As temperatures rise today the sensitivity of avalanches will increase. At the lower elevations the general avalanche hazard is LOW.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) The high pressure center will slowly move east into Tuesday as Pacific moisture brings clouds into the mountains by Tuesday afternoon with a chance of light snow by evening. Morning low temperatures in the mountains will be near twenty then warm to the low thirties. Winds will be southwesterly at 20 to 25 miles per hour on exposed ridges.The general avalanche hazard will remain CONSIDERABLE above 7500 feet through the forecast area. Dangerous slab avalanches to forty inches in depth could be easily triggered by backcountry users on many aspects. Warming temperatures will increase the sensitivity of slabs on sunlit slopes. Careful route-finding will be essential for safe travel in avalanche terrain.
