In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is LOW in the morning and will increase to MODERATE in the afternoon. Air temperatures are in generally in the low 30s early this morning and will rise into the 50s. The snowpack is mostly stable, however the hazard will increase as the day progresses and existing crusts thaw. Steep, avalanche prone slopes and extreme terrain should be avoided after significant softening of the snow surface has occurred. Very little snow remains at the lower elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A high pressure ridge aloft will build over the area through the weekend. Skies are expected to be mostly clear overnight. On Saturday skies will be mostly sunny with a chance of isolated afternoon snow/rain showers. Temperatures will rise into the 50s and 60s from overnight lows near freezing. Winds will be westerly at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the morning hours and increase to MODERATE as the day progresses. Warn air aloft and abundant sunshine could create areas of unstable snow and the potential for wet slides to occur on steep slopes.
