Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to develop on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Areas most affected will be wind sheltered locations such as coire rims, gullies and crag aprons. Fragile cornices will overhang some of these aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack will be firm and stable, with plateau areas mostly scoured. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Fresh South-South-Easterly winds will become South-South-Easterly in direction by the afternoon and increase to strong. A trace of new snow at dawn but otherwise it\'s expected to be dry. Remaining cold with a freezing level around 300 to 400 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with strong to gale force Southerly winds. The midday freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Accumulations of unstable windslab continued to develop on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Areas most affected are in steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims, gully tops and convexities. Localised cross-loaded deposits are also present elsewhere in gullies, and on crag aprons due to the strong winds. Elsewhere the snow is firm and stable, and plateau areas mostly scoured. Fragile cornices remain above some Northerly aspects. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
