Forecast Snow Stability: As it turns milder the shallow windslab accumulations on Easterly aspects above 1000 metres will consolidate. Elsewhere the old snowpack will remain firm well bonded and stable throughout. The greatest amounts will be found on North-West through North to Easterly aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry conditions are expected throughout the forecast period. Moderate to strong Westerly winds will back to become West-South-Westerly during the day. Turning much milder during the night as the 700 metre freezing level rises to well above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A mostly dry day with occasional light snow showers on moderate West-North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 500 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of new snow above 700 metres. Isolated pockets of windslab have developed on Easterly aspects above 1000 metres. These are shallow and generally avoidable. The old snowpack is very firm, stable and well bonded at all elevations. Patchy cover remains, with the greatest amounts on North-West through North to Easterly aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
