Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will thaw at all levels through the afternoon, becoming wet throughout, with minor wet snow instabilities affecting deeper areas of recent snow in steep North to East aspects above 750 metres. The patchy old snow will soften at the surface, but will generally remain firm, well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry overnight and early morning before heavy rain at all levels, preceded by sleet and snow, arrives late afternoon. Light North winds will gradually back South-West by dawn and strengthen to gale force by the afternoon. The freezing level will rise from around 700 metres to well above the summits in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: A fine and dry day with long periods of sun. It remained cold at summit levels and on shaded Northerly aspects. Light North-East winds. ObservedSnowStability: There is a covering of new snow on most aspects above 450 metres, much of which thawed in the direct sun. Most fresh snow accumulated on North to East aspects above 700 metres. The patchy old snow cover is firm and well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
