Snowpack

The snowpack was quiet while traveling around on test slopes between ~10,300ft and 11,400ft, facing NE-E-SE. A test profile on a NE facing slope at 11,450ft, showed a 100cm F-1F slab over the 3/13 interface. The interface was softer at 4F, and the grains were .5mm and rounding. In this deep snowpack, the interface had shown notable improvement compared to other observations earlier in the week.  A few roller balls could be seen out of steep southerly facing slopes with rocky outcrops up to 11,800ft by 2pm. The snow coverage through the Ruby Range has notably improved over the last couple of weeks, with terrain features finally looking much better filled in and holding snow. . Other then a few recent avalanches, no obvious signs of instability. We targeted numerous relatively small, steep windloaded slopes facing NE, E, and SE.

Avalanche

Recent cornice fall in Redwell Basin, a couple more recent avalanches on Schuylkill Ridge, and a small wind slab near Cascade. We also updated sizings on a few older avalanches with better views today.
