Quick report
On East aspect of SE side of Ball Butte. Much less wind loading than expected. About 1-2” of lighter new snow on top of a mushy ice layer as per Gabe’s video from yesterday. Perhaps a bit more consolidated, but definitely didn’t freeze overnight. Supports skis, but not boot or pole plunge. No cracking or other signs of instability observed. Riding was quite fun except in times of visibility challenges.
