specific

Snow was heavy at 9am and got increasingly wet throughout the day. Although there was a crust under the new snow, 6-8 inches of new storm snow on open slopes made riding conditions enjoyable. We triggered small avalanches on steep terrain in the tight trees at the top of Mazama Ridge. 2-4 inches of storm snow ran on the crust, but could be substantially deeper open areas with less dense tree coverage. On the drive down to Longmire, we saw large debris piles from natural avalanches in the Tatoosh.
