Quick report

Mostly poor visibility and slow deep snow made for a very conservative tour. I don't usually dig pits, but decided to see what's on the solstice crust. Found a saturated weak layer 1 cubit down (for those of you who don't use cubits for snow study, my cubit translates to roughly 45cm) and a light crust another cubit below that. The only clean shear I got was about half way between the saturated layer and the light crust, possibly on some surface hoar. Another 2 cubits below the thin crust I found the solstice crust. I had to follow my uptrack down due to poor vis. Of course things cleared out when I got back to the car. A few of the photos were doctored (contrast, etc) to bring out some relief in the white room.

Avalanche

North aspects in Bagley Basin, several natural point release wet loose slides. Looks like out some small trees were taken out.
