Cloud cover increased to partly cloudy after a mostly clear sky in the morning. Winds picked up through the day and were still finding some snow to blow around above 11,500ft.
Snowpack
Just about everywhere I traveled the recent storm snow from earlier this week had already gotten moist. There wasn't a lot of volume available for loose wet avalanches. Due north was about the only place this still looked dry this afternoon. Dug into one wind slab on an easterly aspect at 11,900ft. The thickest part of the slab was about 50cm, before quickly tapering off down the slope. The upper 5cm of the slab was also moist. A small column test produced a moderate result in the storm snow and a rough break on the old crust.
Avalanche
Wet loose avalanches had occurred or were occurring today. These were all small in size. E to NE slopes between 10,000ft and 11,600ft had the most loose wet activity. With similar aspects producing roller balls on up to around 12,000ft.
