Bluebird skys, light wind and near freezing temps made for perfect travel conditions.

Snowpack

In a pit on northeast aspect we found a remarkably right side up snowpack with 1-2cm surface hoar sitting on top of 20-30cm fist hard facets on top of incrementally more dense snow as we dug deeper.  We found no reactive layers in our pit tests. On a steep east-southeast aspect we found moist surface snow that entrained enough to knock a rider off their feet.

From Burke Summit we spied several glide cracks and a glide avalanche to the southeast of Tiger Peak. We also found a glide crack in the east-southeast bowl beneath Burke Summit.
