Quick report

Strong SW winds were moving significant amounts of snow around at upper elevations today as viewed from highway 395 and Twin Lakes Road. At lower elevations, recent snow has become moist due to warming temperatures on all aspects. At Devil's Gate and in Walker Canyon I could see evidence of recent small natural wet-loose point releases. On a brief afternoon ski tour at Twin Lakes, I found moist, manky snow on a N aspect at 7200'. At this location at the base of a gully feature, there was up to 13 inches of recent snow that has become mushy and heavy. At higher elevations blowing snow was visible near and above tree line.
