Quick report

Toured up to the Cooper Spur Hut on Saturday. Sunshine and no wind made it an awesome t-shirt skiing spring day. Around 5000ft we started to notice some wind effect on the snow. Surface remained soft and unconsolidated. Around 6,200ft the snow was wind textured and firm. Hollow sounding under foot, with a firm surface that you could not make tracks on. Skied only low angle terrain above 6200ft. Observed some shallow slabs sliding on Feb crust on isolated leeward pocket of steeper terrain. All south aspects got some significant warming. All of Upper Polallie Canyon the snow was getting sticky and roller balled easily with a thrown snowball. Bellow the A frame the trail lost some coverage between the morning and the afternoon.
