Quick report
Traveled from 1900 ft to 4057ft and observed snow totals starting with ~1cm at 1900ft up to 161cm at an elevation of 4057ft. We dug a full profile pit and did a compression test. It appears that the top 129cm fell in the last week. The new snow old snow (ice crust) interface is well bonded. We saw no signs of wind loading. We viewed a recent avalanche, which based on our pit and visual assessment probably failed somewhere above 67cm and below 140cm. We skied cautiously, and created small sluffs of dry loose snow. The new snow seems to be starting to heal. We didn't do a full temperature profile, but the ground temp was 0 degrees C, and the surface snow was also at 0 degrees C.
