Quick report

Lots of people around the Snow Lake environs. People management was one of the main hazards of the day. Nearly 14 people were seen skinning/climbing up the Thumbtack at once. Some crowns visible but not many natural or human triggered avalanches visible around the Alpental valley. People were skiing some steeper aspects today. Saw a party skied Cache Couloir, Cupcake (Biznatch), and many skied the north slopes of Chair. Still thin in many areas. Bryant Couloir looks like it might go but the rock slab/crux in the middle looks thin. See pictures. Varying depths of soft slab avalanches, mostly limited to top 20-25 cm. Probing in the snow the crust layer of concern was anywhere from 80cm to 1.5m down, depending on elevation and aspect.
