Dug a quick pit in UFO2 on an E-NE aspect. HS 240cm
15" new low density snow. No wind affected snow observed during the entire tour.
Didn't have my string to isolate the column so used my pole to saw through the 1.5" ice/wind crust under the new snow. I wasn't careful enough and the column failed and propagated before finishing isolating it.
We isolated another column being more careful with the isolation and got an ECTP8 on the ice crust.
We jumped on several test slopes today and got no results. However, the snow always seemed to want to slide on the ice. It never did until our pit. The ice crust is pretty uniform in the UFOs.
