Ebbetts Pass

Warm and windy day at Ebbetts Pass today. We found a lot of deep wet snow, and enough deep and dry snow for an enjoyable day. Drainage runnels were developing on all but the steepest shaded aspects, and liquid water was pooling on top of the snow and ice covering Noble Lake at 8860ft. There were occasional light snow showers between 8000ft and our high point of 9400ft. Below 8000ft was light rain. Minimal current wind transport was observed, and wind loaded test slopes did not produce results. 

Wind loaded test slopes did not produce results. Steep and warm slopes were shedding wet snow but not enough to be consequential
