Quick report

Red Flags Comment

No red flags observed and the new snow has settled out nicely, the winds were beginning to pick up early this afternoon with minor wind drifting. The avalanche hazard looks like it will be on the rise with another good looking storm for the start of the week.

Some great over the hood powder and deep trench riding today.

Noticed some wind textured snow on the north side of Moffit Peak and you can usually find some place where the wind blows in the Uintas.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Yesterday's on again off again snow showers and gusty winds created some isolated shallow and manageable soft wind slabs just off the ridge lines.

Looks like maybe just a couple of inches overnight topping off an amazing 30" of new snow that fell on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Some of the more wind exposed terrain does have some stiff dense wind affected snow, but generally there is great powder riding and turning on most slopes. Everytime I go out into the field, I'm just amazed how white and deep the Uintas are!
