Quick report

Traveled from artist pt around s table to Ptarmigan pass and trees beyond. Tests showed instability so we eased into terrain but found limited reactivity in our tree laps. Significant warming by noon even on N facing, so we exited via Herman saddle. Skied down gulch and felt heavier snow which was on the tipping pt of wet loose on steep slopes. Here we saw the most interesting activity

Avalanche

Small sz 1 slabs triggered by our party in steep slopes today. First on test slope cheap date with a stomp on the convexity. One in steep N aspect roll on trees below Ptarmigan ridge/Wells ck, 4700'. Skier triggered 1.5-2 with 1-2' crown on s slope on Mazama dome above Herman saddle, 5600'. Saw a large sz 2 natural or human triggered(?) slab below Grotto on the last treed slope before Herman gulch, 4600'. Deeper 2-4'(?) crown encompassing at least last 2 or 3 days of snowfall and wrapping around terrain features. This covered other skiers tracks.
