Quick report
Today, Cory and I explored the backcountry in the Nay Springs Creek drainage. We also assessed storm conditions and new snow amounts.

A stormy day with several inches of fresh snow. Winds were light to moderate out of the west and southwest, though higher up winds could be heard blowing much stronger. Skies remained overcast for the entirety of the outing, and temperatures hung just below freezing levels.
Snowpack
Today, no red flags of avalanche danger or alarming pit results were discovered. Below treeline new snow is bonding well and remains soft. In an exposed area at 5,630 feet, southwest winds have lightly effected the snow surface, making it denser and in the beginning stages of developing a wind slab. However, significant cracking could not be initiated, and the snow lacked cohesiveness. This is likely not the case near and above treeline where winds are stronger and drifts are deeper and denser.
Stability tests discovered two interfaces within the snowpack that did not result in propagation.
