Quick report

Cracking
specific

We toured up from the road towards Hidden peak with little to no new snow in the morning. Winds were strong even below tree line and building throughout the day. HS near the road was 20-40cm We dug a quick pit at 7,600’ on a NE aspect with a CT 12 down 50cm on the Jan 2 PWL. HS 90cm Near the ridge gale force winds were drifting snow across all features. Noticed some cracking on unsupported features and test slopes that noticeably increased between 12pm and 2pm On our final descent, it became clear that rain had fallen on the snow below 7,200’ We noticed some massive pinwheels below this elevation, up to 4 ft in size.
