Quick report

Clear weather (and a telephoto lens) allowed for some beautiful views old avalanche debris in the hills. The weather was pleasant and mild, as has been the case recently. Ski conditions were enjoyable, and spring-like where soft snow and smooth surfaces could be found. I saw many glide cracks, wet slabs, and suspected cornice failures, often running surprisingly far. As mentioned in the bulletins recently, firm surface conditions and a low snowpack pose a significant hazard. Slip or losing a ski could lead to a negative outcome.

Avalanche

Many older large wet slab, glide, and cornice avalanches.
