Quick report
I happened to be scanning Peak 3 area in the Chugach Front Range From Clark's Road with binoculars looking for potential ski runs. In a strange coincidence at same time happened to watched two persons start sliding down the NW aspect of Peak 3 not far below the summit. They proceeded to kick off an avalanche a short distance below the summit. It started as a point release then broadened as the slide ran downhill. They slid along the margins of the slide but neither seemed to be caught up in the debris. When slide stopped moving they continued to slide down the mountain adjacent to the debris until they were out of sight. Avalanche ran for approximately 30 seconds. I was approximately 2 miles away so didn't get a chance to talk with either party. Was not able to get any photos. WL-AF-R3-D2. Dimensions approx. 50 x 500ft.
