Sastrugi on west aspects. Dense sun and wind crusts, that would easily break but not propagate. South aspects felt like late spring or summer.
Avalanche
I was above the NE Gully around 230pm. Having seen the D2/3 slide in the E gully this morning. I thought this might be an easier descent than some of the options considering everything refroze. The entrance to the gully has dense firm sastrugi. After some careful traversing I noticed the crown of the old dry avalanche, I'm guessing from the extreme winds on 2/26. The crown seemed to range from 9-12". The debris field ran about 1200- 1500'. Lower down a D1/2 wet slide had run over the top of the old debris as well. Guessing this occured yesterday 2/27.
