Quick report

Noted WRG crevasses opening wide on common 8.7K’ exit making high exit from (still quality) Headwall ski prudent. Old chute area runnels, etc would make rim ski dicey now (lower West Crater Rim still skiable at steepest far skier’s right, but barely and escape route lower down near Hot Rocks fully melted out). A few lines from IllumSad back to Timberline still possible, but need to stay high and scope snow seams or be ready to bootpack a bit. Finally, Hogsback Bergschrund ski still very reasonable, especially if stay high skier’s right back to climbers track (and with brief meltout bootpack near Kitchen level). With careful planning and mitigation preparation, I took another route which I’ll explain via pics (and don’t recommend without similar precautions, especially as the summer meltout marches onward).
