Sunny, warm, almost hot for April at 12,000ft, light Northwest breeze.
Snowpack
On a Northeast slope at 11,700 feet, the upper portion of the snowpack has seen melt-freeze cycles down about a foot and a half deep. The lower portion still harbors cold, dry layers deeper in the snowpack. Meanwhile, the snowpack on southerly aspects has seen meltwater run to or near the ground since mid-March. Below treeline has improved slope connectivity from the recent storm, but remains relatively shallow.
Avalanche
Old wind slab in drifted snow on east-facing above treeline slope under a cornice above Glen Cove cirque. Recent Loose Wet activity along cliffs and shallow rocks on steep east through southerly slopes.
