Weather

Light NW winds where we traveled today. Evidence of down valley winds last night at lower elevations, along with yesterday's drifting near treeline. cloud cover: broken; wind loading: previous; recent snowfall (cm): 25; snow avail for transport: moderate amounts

Snowpack

We targeted several leeward slopes near the ridgeline and produced large collapses on all of them, one while stepping out of skis, and three while stomping with skis. These were on E and NE aspects NTL. One of these collapses remotely triggered a large persistent slab, and one remotely triggered a cornice. No signs of instability while breaking trail and skiing in wind-sheltered terrain below treeline.
