Quick report

I observed large shards of hoar frost in areas protected by wind, and a thin granular layer of snow laid over a thick crust. While skiing the north face of Mt. Roothaan, the thin, granular layer on top of the crust allowed me to control speed, turn well, and have an enjoyable ski. The crust was always firm enough that I never punched through to disturb the deeper snow pack.
