Today we skied up to Raven lake. We saw widespread surface hoar on all aspects and elevations sparkling in the sunlight. We had planned to ski a more exposed line from the peak to the lake but moderate winds were transporting snow into slabs at higher elevations. We took note of the new avalanche problem, pivoted our plan to match conditions, and skied a fun line that was more sheltered and free of windslabs.
