Quick report

The Northgate Trailhead is officially open for the season! Now fully stocked with Wilderness Permits, Summit Passes ($25) and WAG Bags for self-issue. Restrooms and a receptacle for trash are also now available. The road has not completely melted but drivable within half a mile. A vehicle with higher clearance is recommended, especially within the last 4 miles or so. While we did not venture out on this particular day, snow coverage is excellent on the Hotlum Glacier and the Hotlum-Bolam Ridge. Snow coverage is patchy in the vicinity of the trailhead. Come enjoy this remote and less frequented side of the mountain! Note that routes are more technical and route finding more challenging than those found on the south side. As always, come prepared!
