Quick report
Today, we left Bridger Bowl Ski Area at the South Boundary and toured up Saddle Peak.
The winds on the ridge were moderately blowing from the southwest. We experienced a mix of sunshine and clouds. Around noon more and more clouds came in blocking the sun, but they lifted shortly again and the sun came through.
We observed some recent small facet sluffs in steep and shady terrain of which we triggered one ourselves. We didn't observe any cracking or collapsing.
Although the winds were blowing moderately, snow wasn't transported. There is not much snow left on the west side for transport.
Our snowprofile showed that there is some near surface faceting happening in the upper 5" probably due to diurnal faceting. Also the mid and lower snowpack primarily consisted of facetes and rounding facets with some crusts in between which are faceting.
Our ECT did not result in propagation, but initiated a fracture at ECTN12 on a layer of facets and graupel near the top.
