Quick report

Explored our past Armstrong Pass in the Willow Creek area today. Conditions were highly variable with impressive soft near surface facets on shady protected terrain but firmer conditions up high and on sunny exposed slopes. Similar to other zones there is around 5 inches of soft facets at the surface in untracked shady areas but old tracks and wind or sun exposed areas are often firm. Coverage on sunny slopes is spotty and didn't appear conducive to over snow travel at lower elevations. The road in to this area is melted out in several spots in the first mile from 89 and while we rode sleds across the dry spots, we did feel bad about it.
