Seems Persistent Weak layers are isolated to only near treeline very shaded and protect areas that have not seen water reach the PWL. Some loose wet problem on southerlies late in the day as expected.
Snowpack

- <p>Wind slabs 5-10cm thick found above 11,600 feet on leeward sides of ridgelines, stubborn and isolated, cracks would not propagate more than about 5 feet.</p> <p>A few quick pits between 10600 ft. and 11800 ft. on north and northeast aspects show signs of an old layer of well-developed facets about 110-150cm below the snow surface (1F hard) that has recently (within the past week or two) seen liquid water within the weak layer. Primary grain type of this layer would be MF with FC as a secondary grain type and spatially variable ice columns throughout the slab and the weak layer down into lower levels of the snowpack. Snowpack tests showed all stable results (ECTX(x3) in a few different locations.</p>
