Weather

A warm morning cooled down throughout the afternoon, with increasing clouds and winds. No snow transport was observed, but winds kept snow surfaces frozen on windward slopes.

Snowpack

All snowpack observations were taken between 10,800 feet and 11,500 feet. Liquid water made it to the lower depth hoar layers on west-facing slopes with some frozen percolation columns making it to lower depth hoar layers on east-facing slopes. Move just north of east and west and the lower weak layers were moist but no liquid water made it to them. All the upper weak layers from March saw water and some were refrozen while others were still wet and propagated on just a few taps during extended column tests.

Avalanche

Observed several small to large Loose Wet avalanches and some Wet Slabs around the Castle Creek and Conundrum Creek drainages.
