West Willow Peak

The new snow came mostly right side up and over a foot deep, even at low elevations.  We dug two pits.  One at 5300ft on an East aspect and a second at 6300ft on a NE aspect.  The first pit was just over a meter deep and had several CT results from the new snow interface to the AR.  It also propagated on an ECT with strong force on the AR.  The second pit was in 245 cm of snow and scored CTV on the AR, CT12 on the new snot interface on a layer of graupel, and ECTX.  The second pit had less reactive test results but did not convince us the snowpack was more stable.  Two small slides were observed on an almost identical slope roughly 12 hours old.  Additionally, numerous layers could be separated in our columns with extreme force or the Idaho side whammer.
