Snowpack
There was about 5 or so inches of snow covering some sort of a crust on all aspects and elevations. I went up to about 10,300 feet in north facing terrain and still found a stout crust below the new snow. Below the crust was the weak snow from before this storm. You could feel the crust while skiing but did not break though. I am not sure what caused the crust? Wasn't rime, rain, sun, or wind. Could be a layer of interest in the future.
