Party of 3 approached Ghost Trees from June Mountain Resort midday Sunday during heavy southwest winds. Goal was to find soft turns on sheltered aspect while being mindful of avalanche terrain. We followed the skin track to the top of Ghost Trees and observed several other parties in the area. There were wind-affected surfaces and weak crusts evident on the climb but no instabilities. Upon descending near the east shoulder of the slope, around 9,900 ft there was evidence of a previous slide (potentially from the 3/13 storm). One skier experienced an isolated shooting crack in the area upon stopping mid slope. The snowpack appeared relatively thin, less than 100 cm from pole probes nearby. The rest of the descent down the Yost creek drainage was uneventful beyond managing variable snow conditions. Patches of soft snow could be found in the trees but snowpack is consolidating quickly with warm temps.

Evidence of decent slide from previous storm, debris piled against trees covered by more recent snowfall. Bed surface was 1-2 ft below adjacent snow surface. Slope angle 35-40°. Exact size not determined.
