Quick report

Shockingly low snowpack for almost the entire approach. Bushwack with recent downfall was light to moderate. Every valley visible was subject to a strong temperature inversion and cloud cover was thick. Broke out of the clouds around 5000'. It was almost spring-warm after that. Beginning at the same time around 5100' we noticed roller balls coming off of our skin track. At 6000' they were very large and unprovoked. We observed large clumps that had rolled off of sunny slopes above us. At the same time we decided to turn back and make due with what "skiing" existed below us. Snow was heavy and facets were observed in many areas.
